Munther Isaac is a Palestinian Christian pastor and theologian. He now pastors the Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church in Bethlehem. He is also the academic dean of Bethlehem Bible College, and is the director of the highly acclaimed and influential Christ at the Checkpoint conferences.
Munther is passionate about issues related to Palestinian Christians and peacemaking. He speaks locally and internationally and has published numerous articles on issues related to the theology of the land, Palestinian Christians and Palestinian theology, holistic mission and reconciliation. He is the author of “From Land to Lands, from Eden to the Renewed Earth: A Christ-Centered Biblical Theology of the Promised Land”, “An Introduction to Palestinian Theology” (in Arabic), and a commentary on the book of Daniel (in Arabic). He is also involved in many reconciliation and interfaith forums.
Munther originally studied civil engineering in Birzeit University in Palestine. He then obtained a Master in Biblical Studies from Westminster Theological Seminary and then a PhD from the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies.
Yousef AlKhouri is a Christian Arab Palestinian. He is married to Merna and they live in Bethlehem, Palestine. Yousef was born in Gaza to a Christian family that has a long heritage of serving in the priesthood of the Greek Orthodox Church. He is a lecturer of Biblical studies at Bethlehem Bible College, where he earned his first degree in Biblical Studies. He also holds a Master’s of Divinity from Alliance Theological Seminary, NY. Yousef has contributed to two books, Majority World Theologies and Refugee Diaspora. He is passionate about contextual theologies, holistic missions, peacemaking, and advocacy.
Jack Munayer was born and raised in Jerusalem and continues to live there today. He was born to an English mother and a Palestinian Christian citizen of Israel father. Jack grew up in a multicultural environment, with both Israelis and Palestinians and is active in bridge-building initiatives both in the Land and overseas.
Jack has a BA in Criminology and Sociology from the University of York and an MA in International Law, Human Rights and Transitional Justice. Jack has worked in International Advocacy for World Vision and is currently the Local Program Coordinator for the Ecumenical Accompaniment Program in Palestine and Israel. Jack is also the Coordinator of the Christ at the Checkpoint Conference.
Jack is also married to Rawan and together they have one son, Salim.
Shireen Awwad Hilal
Shireen Awwad Hilal is a Palestinian Christian working for peace. She is Director of the Community Outreach at Bethlehem Bible College and has a passion to work with different local organization towards peace building and also creating a better future for the Palestinians in the Land rather than leave the country to seek a future outside Palestine. Shireen is also the coordinator of Musalaha Women’s Ministry. Once a year, Musalaha hosts an annual conference, bringing together Israeli and Palestinian women in a neutral location outside of the region to create a balance of power, where they work towards forgiveness, understanding and reconciliation.
As part of her work with Musalaha she desires to see women leaders in the area who are educated and trained toward leadership, reconciliation, nonviolence, rights, and other issues that are essential in daily life, especially in Palestine.
Shireen holds a BA English degree in Literature minor in Translation from Bethlehem University, an MA degree in Educational Administration from Texas A & M University, USA and an MBA from Tel Aviv University. She and her very supportive husband have 4 children – Miron, Marcell, Maria and Rayan.
