A Faith experience

A pilgrimage to the holy land is bound to be an unforgettable spiritual experience for any Christian! It is like reliving the stories of the bible in the places where they occurred. For bible believing Christians, it is sure to enable a fresh reading of the scriptures, and enrich discipleship.

Experience the challenges of the Christian faith and mission in the Holy land today.

Jesus was born in occupied Bethlehem and lived under the Roman occupation all His life. Bethlehem continues to be under occupation, this time by the Israeli government. Both regimes have one thing in common: The Roman Empire did not think much of Jesus and His message of the Kingdom. So too the current regime in Israel thinks nothing of Christ and His message of the kingdom. Christians in Bethlehem continue to contend for the faith under adverse conditions of occupation, in much the same way as the early disciples in Jesus ‘s day.

The difference is of course is that in His day, all His disciples followed Him and His Kingdom message, and lamented His execution by the political and religious authorities in Jerusalem. In our day, the opposite is true. Many disciples of Christ around the world unknowingly celebrate with the authorities in Jerusalem the continuing cruel occupation of Bethlehem and the rest of Palestine.  The fact that Jerusalem officially continues to deny both Jesus and His message of the Kingdom does not appear to matter.

How might Christians worldwide pray for the peace of Jerusalem, while they share the Lord’s lament:

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God’s messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let me.” (Matthew 23: 37)

An opportunity

Join TEASA on a pilgrimage to the holy land, and encourage Christians in Bethlehem and the occupied Palestinian territories as they struggle to live out the faith in costly and sacrificial ways. Make your pilgrimage part of the solution, rather than add to the burden of the oppressed.
